چکیده
Laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) offers high degrees of freedom to create complex geometries with fine features. Controlling surface roughness is one the means improving mechanical and functional properties. This critical for those surfaces that post-treatments cannot process. study investigated effects a wide range processing parameters grouped by energy density on roughness, particularly at vertical in L-PBF. The arithmetic average Sa, was measured via confocal microscopy. Scanning electron microscope used examine detailed characteristics solidification microstructure near surfaces. Increasing laser power speed under identical or increasing equal results rough Solidified melt tracks partially remelted particles dominate cases low densities. Laser surface modification of 316 L stainless steel with bioactive hydroxyapatite.
Laser-engineered net shaping (LENS™), a commercial additive manufacturing process, was used to modify the surfaces of 316 L stainless steel with bioactive hydroxyapatite (HAP). The modified surfaces were characterized in terms of their microstructure, hardness and apatite forming ability. The results showed that with increase in laser energy input from 32 J/mm(2) to 59 J/mm(2) the thickness of ...

Using uniaxial tensile and hardness testing, we evaluated the variability and anisotropy of the mechanical properties of an austenitic stainless steel, UNS S17400, manufactured by an additive process, selective laser melting. Like wrought materials, the mechanical properties depend on the orientation introduced by the processing. The recommended stress-relief heat treatment increases the tensil...
